Our 2017 Block of the Month is being presented by a Committee. We're calling it Row, Row, Row Your Quilt. It is based on a Marti Mitchell pattern with Cabin by the Lake fabrics. Nancy F is heading up our Committee and has prepared many handouts that will be given to you in various parts as we move through the blocks and techniques being taught. This quilt is intended to present many basic techniques for piecing several styles of blocks and then setting them together for a completed quilt. It is a large project and we will be presenting each section as a separate class. Bring your machine, your basic sewing kit, and a dose of patience. You will have time and assistance to complete some of the blocks during our meeting time. Small projects will be included as an extra at some meetings but not every meeting. We hope you will join us for this educational endeavor! Remember you don't have to do the whole quilt. You might want to choose fabrics from your stash and simply practice the techniques.
Please see the following photos and scans of the handouts to get an idea on how it began.
We have an extra Community Service project that is ongoing also. We are making School Supply Bags for Church World Service to fill. Please see the Community Service tab for the pattern. Here is a link to the website for more information http://cwskits.org/assemble-kits/school-kits/
