January - getting started!
This year our Monthly Program is planned to be a wall hanging calendar that has decorative panel using hook & loop tape to change each month. The calendar that hangs in the pocket below the panel will be given to each member. The first project is the Calendar Holder Background and is available to work on now or anytime. An alternative choice can be that each month the block or blocks made could become a quilt top that represents all the seasons or another project style for your blocks.
Each month a choice of two blocks is presented. One is a Traditional pieced block and the other is a Foundation Paper-pieced Block. You may do either block or both. The list for fabrics and cutting will be given at the meeting preceding the block. For January we are planning for the January block and the February. Then in February we will present the March block, etc. If you bring your pieces you should have plenty of sewing time during the meeting to make good progress. At 1 pm each time a drawing for a random prize is to encourage you to stay and sew will us.
A few times throughout the year we will have guests speakers/teachers from out local quilt shops an community. Please stay tuned for some of these extra events.
