Hello Everyone,

I hope your Spring is off to a happy start. This is my welcome to the 2024 blog page for Over the Mountain Quilt Guild. Since we didn't have a meeting in January, the photos all start with the February 13 meeting. Show & Tell showcases Bernadette H and her beautiful quilt we've all watched progress over the months. It's finally going on her own bed! Show and tell also has the group photo of all the great folded star pot holders we made.

Community Service work was also hopping during the February meeting. We made Adult Clothing Protectors to donate to a local assisted living facility. Click that tab to see the results.

March and April Meetings are scheduled with our special guest instructor so there won't be regular show & tell or minutes for the next two meetings. If I get a whim and remember to take some  pictures of our bag making adventure, I'll post them in Show & Tell. Hope you have fun with whatever you are sewing this Spring.

Happy Sewing,  Holly P

 Hello Everyone,

So glad to see so many of you all at the meeting yesterday! I had a great time and I'm glad  you enjoyed the dish carrier project.

Please remember to bring your Show and Tell of any sort to share. I would love to take your picture and post it with our photos here. This month there are a couple xmas finishes to see and part of our happy group. Let's keep the pretties going!

Next month we're meeting for a holiday luncheon off-site at a restaurant. Please remember to R.S.V.P. with Bernadette H to get location and details.

Happy sewing, Holly

July Update

Hello Everyone,

We had a productive meeting on July 11. Susannah presented a Dresden plate sunflower technique to use as an applique on a table runner. We had fun getting into this project. I'll be excited to see the finished items. A few photos are shown in the show & tell tab.

August 8 is our next meeting and we have new fiscal year business to discuss. It's time for new volunteers for President and Programs. Other positions are negotiable also. Please think about giving a little of your time to help make the next year even better. Let us know how you'd like to participate. The new fiscal year begins in October so dues of $50 will be due at the September meeting. The project is community service, making fidget quilt for the Alzheimer units. Please bring your machine, supplies, ideas and a sack lunch and join us.

September 12 is our Anniversary Party! Please bring a dish to share and your own plate, bowl and utensils to dispose of or take home and wash. We will have a no-machine-needed project to share. Show and Tell is welcome too!

Hope to see you all there.

Happy quilting, Holly P

June update

Hello Everyone,

We had fun meeting in June. Susannah lead us in making trays that tie to be upright and store flat. Photos of the sample and finished trays are in the Show & Tell tab. It was a fun project and was easy to finish during our sewing time. After sewing we socialized over our sack lunches then headed home. Another enjoyable gathering for our quilt guild. Thank you everyone for attending.

Our next meeting is Tuesday, July 11, 9:30 am

 Hello Everyone,

Hope you are having a great finish to your Spring. I'm finally catching up with photos from our 2023 meetings. Check out the Show & Tell 2023 tab for the monthly show and tell and May retreat pictures. Let me know if you want digital copies of you or your quilts. I'm happy to email them to you.

Hope to see you at the June 13 meeting. Look for an email about the project and supply needs.

Friday, October 7, 2022

Hello Everyone,

Our next meeting is next week, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, 9:30 am – 2:00pm. I hope you can join us as we begin our new fiscal year. We accepted a change in volunteer positions and have a new group keeping us organized and planning our projects and activities for the next 12 months. It’s easy to join in and make this guild what you would like it to be.

Dues are now due. $50 for the Fiscal Year October 2022 -September 2023. This covers our rental cost for the room each month and a few extras. There will not be a fee at the door. Newcomers are welcome to come visit the first time. After that we request they join as a member.

For this meeting we have a wonderful original project being presented by Susannah F. She has designed a sweet pumpkin mug rug for us to create and decorate our Autumn tables. There is a photo and supply list below. Please bring your machine and supplies and sew with us.

At this meeting we are also continuing with our Community Service efforts. Please bring any blocks you’ve made for the 2020 Community Service Quilt. There are supplies available to make fidget quilts and would love to continue to donate those to the Alzheimer facilities. There will be a silent auction of two or three quilt tops from Eileen’s estate. Proceeds from the auction benefit our community service efforts by providing batting and backings for community service quilts. Also needed is quilting of already pieced tops. If you are willing to do the quilting on a community service quilt, please let us know. We have people that will do the binding, if you don’t want to do that step.

As always we are most interested in seeing your Show and Tell. Please bring your creations to share. We love to see what you’re working on now.

I hope to see you on Tuesday.

May your stitches be straight and true.

Blessed Be, Holly P
