Hello Everyone,
August's meeting was fun and busy. Kathryn F did a great job introducing us to our new Flying Geese rulers to make our last row as perfect as possible. We had fun admiring the Show & Tell projects  and Shelly's beach theme table was full of goodies. Our members are fun and generous. Thanks Ladies! Later on, Cindy and Carol A presented us with the supplies for a great travel thread/scrap catcher. It only had one seam to sew by machine and the rest is hand work but still and easy and useful project. Thanks! We met a new guest who quickly became a new member. Tanya M we are happy to have you join us.  See you all at the 19th anniversary Potluck on September 12! Until then ...

Hello Everyone,
We had a productive meeting July 11, 2017. Our theme of the day was Pies and Christmas in July. Thank you to each of you that contributed the yummy sweets! I hope those selling a few items got a few dollars to share and shop with themselves.  Susannah presented an calming lesson on the myriad of pieces and how they go together for the Blanket Strip Row of our Row, Row, Row Your Quilt. Photos are on the "Other Fun and News" tab. "Show and Tell" gave us some impressive finishes and fun ideas.  Our next meeting in August will be the last of the rows - Flying Geese presented by Kathryn F. Our September meeting is the over The Mountain Quilters 19th Anniversary Party. We would like to have at least 8 short demos 10-15 minutes in length for this event. If you have some interesting tip or easy project you would like to share, Please contact our President, Sandra P to get your name on the list. We would love to see whatever you would like to share.

Hello Everyone,
Our May 9th meeting was busy and productive. There were 27 of our 33 members signed in. Many of them got going on the 18 Log Cabin Blocks that are needed for the big border. We'll set those and finish the border at a meeting later in the year. There were many pretty show and tell quilts and projects and lots of Community Service Quilts turned in. See the show and tell page and the Community Service Page for pictures of these wonderful creations.  We received a thank you note and photos from the group to which we donated the school bags. Scroll further down the Community Service page to see those. I hope you all have a great month sewing. Maybe I'll see you at the Albuquerque Fiber Arts Fiesta!

Hello Everyone,
We had a great meeting in April working on our community service Quilts for the Veterans Integration Center. Eileen and Bev presented a Quilt As You Go style strip quilt and the sewers did a great job of completing or nearly completing their quilts. Bring your finished quilt to the next meeting and we'll get a group photo for this blog.

In April 2017 Nancy sent a box of 50 school bags (because that's what fit in the box) and still has some to begin the collection for next year. We're sure they will enjoy receiving these as they told Nancy their goal this year was 50 bags. Good going Over The Mountain Quilters!

The Great Outdoor Quilt Show presented by Thimbleweed Quilters is Sunday, April 23 at the Veterans Memorial Park in Rio Rancho 10am-3pm. There will be over 200 hundred quilts displayed, vendors, and music. Admission is free.

Albuquerque Fiber Arts Fiesta happens on May 19, 20, &21. This is the largest Fiber Arts Shows in our area and features displays from 18 different Fiber Arts guilds, a juried quilt show, vendors, classes and more. Please see http://www.abqfiberartscouncil.org/fiesta.html for more details.

We'll be back to working on the Row, Row, Row Your Quilt during the May meeting.

Hello Everyone,
2017 began with a lot of information at the January 10 meeting. I hope you got some understanding of how to begin selecting fabrics for the Row, Row, Row Your Quilt Block of the Month program being presented at the meetings. Please notice there is a tab for that program on this blog and we will try to keep the information as up to date as possible here. Please keep browsing through the blog pages when you have a moment. I update and change things as I get the information.  Don't miss on having the latest news! For example the Supply list was changed slightly. We don't want you to make all the pre-cuts. There will be a demo of ways to cut some of your pieces that you might like better.
Please let me know if there is anything that needs to be corrected. I don't mind since my goal is to keep us all in touch accurately.
