Hello Everyone,
Our May 9th meeting was busy and productive. There were 27 of our 33 members signed in. Many of them got going on the 18 Log Cabin Blocks that are needed for the big border. We'll set those and finish the border at a meeting later in the year. There were many pretty show and tell quilts and projects and lots of Community Service Quilts turned in. See the show and tell page and the Community Service Page for pictures of these wonderful creations.  We received a thank you note and photos from the group to which we donated the school bags. Scroll further down the Community Service page to see those. I hope you all have a great month sewing. Maybe I'll see you at the Albuquerque Fiber Arts Fiesta!

Hello Everyone,
We had a great meeting in April working on our community service Quilts for the Veterans Integration Center. Eileen and Bev presented a Quilt As You Go style strip quilt and the sewers did a great job of completing or nearly completing their quilts. Bring your finished quilt to the next meeting and we'll get a group photo for this blog.

In April 2017 Nancy sent a box of 50 school bags (because that's what fit in the box) and still has some to begin the collection for next year. We're sure they will enjoy receiving these as they told Nancy their goal this year was 50 bags. Good going Over The Mountain Quilters!

The Great Outdoor Quilt Show presented by Thimbleweed Quilters is Sunday, April 23 at the Veterans Memorial Park in Rio Rancho 10am-3pm. There will be over 200 hundred quilts displayed, vendors, and music. Admission is free.

Albuquerque Fiber Arts Fiesta happens on May 19, 20, &21. This is the largest Fiber Arts Shows in our area and features displays from 18 different Fiber Arts guilds, a juried quilt show, vendors, classes and more. Please see http://www.abqfiberartscouncil.org/fiesta.html for more details.

We'll be back to working on the Row, Row, Row Your Quilt during the May meeting.

Hello Everyone,
2017 began with a lot of information at the January 10 meeting. I hope you got some understanding of how to begin selecting fabrics for the Row, Row, Row Your Quilt Block of the Month program being presented at the meetings. Please notice there is a tab for that program on this blog and we will try to keep the information as up to date as possible here. Please keep browsing through the blog pages when you have a moment. I update and change things as I get the information.  Don't miss on having the latest news! For example the Supply list was changed slightly. We don't want you to make all the pre-cuts. There will be a demo of ways to cut some of your pieces that you might like better.
Please let me know if there is anything that needs to be corrected. I don't mind since my goal is to keep us all in touch accurately.

Hello Everyone,
I hope your holidays are enjoyable and relaxing. For 2017 we are starting an exciting new year of educational presentations, community service, and quilting friendships. I hope you are able to join us often and don't miss an opportunity to be inspired, learn new tips and tricks, or join in the appreciation of sharing our art and craft together.

Please take a look at the Upcoming meetings tab for more information about our January plans. I will update it with any additional news once I get a reminder.

Also, please notice the new tab on the second row of tabs. It's a place for you to show off your finished Block of the Month Quilts. I only have a few of the last couple years to show. If you have one you'd like to include, please send me an email with the photo and information of what year and technique it was with your full name. If you can bring the quilt to a meeting and let me photograph it, I will be sure to include it in the new section.

November notes

Hello Everyone,
As you might have noticed, I've added a couple new pages to our blog. If anyone can help me with the gaps in information I've presented please email me at holika@comcast.net. I hope you are enjoying the Show and Tell photos. You are a talented group and make some amazing quilts and many other items! I love seeing all that you are creating!

I'm still updating for our next meeting in December so please check back again to see if there is more information that will help you join in.

Happy Stitching!

Hello Everyone,
We had a lively October meeting with many beautiful quilts that are in the Show & Tell section of this blog. Many of the members had fun creating the clothesline bowls that Kathy K. presented as our small project this month. The supply list for next month appears under the upcoming meetings tab.

The board agreed to try an expansion on the main website for photos for a 6 month trial period. Please visit there soon to see if the format of accessing photos is interesting to you.

You can see the rest of the minutes of the latest meeting in the Board minutes section soon along with the General Meeting minutes in its section as well. Please give our busy Secretary a week or two after the meeting to get those posted.

Please let me know what else you might want to see on the blog. Our website is useful for most ongoing information and past years of photos. This blog is meant to keep us current and be a friendly reminder for each month's activities.

We hope you are enjoying the ongoing development of this project.
Happy Stitching!

We're expanding

Hello Everyone,
We are beginning to add more to our blog page. I have updated the Show and Tell section to include all the photos since I took on the job in February 2016.  There are more tabs to look into. The Upcoming Meetings should have the most current information on what to bring and remember for the next meeting. If you are leading a project or guild event please send the information to me early so it can appear on this blog. Thank you.

I want to welcome Joyce Calhoun as a co-administrator on the blog. She is our current Secretary and will be sharing the minutes from the General Meetings and Board Meetings. This is an easy way for you to see what is happening at meetings you are unable to attend and to follow the methods and choices the Board are pursuing to help make the guild a place you want to be.

Please let us know what other information you would like to see on the blog. We would like this to be an OTM Guild reference point for the latest news.

Thank you and Happy Stitching, Holly P.
